ME.!!!
Installation in public space by Angie Hiesl + Roland Kaiser
with a text by Lothar Kittstein
ME.!!! is a site-specific installation consisting of word objects that intervene in everyday urban life in a visually, linguistically and acoustically way. It can be experienced on Kurt-Hackenberg-Platz, a central square in Cologne's city centre in the run-up to Christmas. Angie Hiesl + Roland Kaiser have created this work in collaboration with author Lothar Kittstein, who wrote a text especially for this installation.
ME.!!! treads the fine line between unbridled instinct and social behavior. When ME acts, ME always affects others. This is why binding rules and traditions have applied in all times and in all societies. How much ego trip can a society tolerate? At what point does ME become a danger?
ME.!!! questions the state of being a subject as a fragile process, which in its outward effect repeatedly leads to small or large catastrophes.
ME.!!! confronts passers-by and interested parties with the positioning and weighting of their own egos in changing life realities.
ME.!!! provokes by holding each individual accountable.
