AQUAMARIN

Urban installation and performance project
by Angie Hiesl + Roland Kaiser

AQUAMARIN is an aesthetic confrontation with the element of water.

In our urban everyday lives those living in economically and climatically stable countries often take the element of water for granted. Yet only in rare exceptional circumstances we become aware of its existential meaning, wildness and sheer power.

But no matter how efficiently the water industry manages and regulates the way we deal with water, we maintain an unshakably sensual relationship with this element. Regardless of where or in what form water appears, it catches our attention, arouses our curiosity and lights up our passion.

Together with an international ensemble of six dancers and one sound artist, Hiesl + Kaiser bring the water into urban space. They create urban associations that intervene in a bizarrely poetic manner in the daily goings-on.
