AUSSER_ORDENTLICH –
Rückblick - Einblick - Ausblick
The event series AUSSER_ORDENTLICH deals with four decades of performance art by Angie Hiesl + Roland Kaiser. With selected performances, an intermedia exhibition and discursive formats, they look back on their interventions in private and public urban space. At the same time, they look forward.
The project began with ...public hair... (2023), AUFGELÖST (2023) and DRESSING THE CITY UND MEIN KOPF IST EIN HEMD #02 (2024) and now ends with a major exhibition.

The intermedia exhibition AUSSER_ORDENTLICH – Rückblick - Einblick - Ausblick explores four decades of performance art by Angie Hiesl + Roland Kaiser.
Works in form of film projections, photos and some artifacts from previous projects will be exhibited. There will be an additional meeting space where different talks will take place. These public discussions with a wide variety of guests will deal with the topics of performance art in public space, artistic reuse of urban space and the city as open space.
Angie Hiesl + Roland Kaiser are realizing the exhibition in dialogue with filmmaker Florian Dedek, representative of a younger generation of artists. In this collaboration, filmic and photographic archive material is reflected with a contemporary media perspective and a selection will be restaged as an intermedia narrative. The overall concept and curatorial development of the extensive project series was created in collaboration with the curators Tasja Langenbach and Annette Ziegert and included various live performances in public space and discussion panels in 2023/2024.
